Because he's on the same situation of the writer he's on his late thirties.

Searching for a different kind of job.

Human Right doesn't take care of this specific situation as well they have to.

1. What are your views on Richard's scheme? Would you like to participate in such a scheme?
Not really, because I got a lot of expenses.

2. Would such a scheme succeed in the firm you work / have worked for? Why not?
No, because our salary is very low.

3.What do you thing so many of Virgin's cabin crew took advantage of the scheme?
Well, because they have more days to spend with their families.

4.Could this kind of scheme only succeed with youthful staff who hace few family responsabilities?
I think it could work also with older people too, because nowadays older people needs to work and work only for their needs.

5. How could you persuade people who have considerable working experience and are used to earning a certain wage that they should take a pay cut?
Tell them about free time to spend with their childrens and visit their families.

6. What do you thing of the following:
a) A four-day week. In the USA could be good for people with a few families because they will be have more time to hang it out.

b) A nine-day fortnight. The same for a four-day week, more free time but less paid.

c) Seasonable work. There some places like Cabo, where this is very often to hapened because people from other comunities of Mexico arrive  to work in the high season and when it's over they return to their hometown.
d) Job sharing. I think that this scheme Could work with students, working a few hours a day.

The best impression, because this is the way to have more oportunities to be hired.

2. Should an application letter be handwritten, typed or laser-printed?
In my opinion an application letter should be laser-printed, because is has better presentation.

3. How important is a well-presented CV or rèsume?
Like I said in my first answer with a well-presented CV you'll would have more opportunities to be hired.

4. Do you always tell the absolute truth in application letters?
Yes, because if you said something that you don`t know that could be take it like a dishonest person.

Page 126. Part B. Read the newspaper and find the answer.

1. What were the two reasons why Virgin Atlantic was considering redundancies?
Virgin Atlantic was considering redundancies because of the reccesion and beacuse they failure to acquire more fligth slots out of Heathrow airport.

2.What were the two things Richard Branson invited his staff to do?
He invited to take up to six months unpaid and leave and to participate in a job sharing scheme.

3. How many people volunteered to take unpaid leave?
450 volunteered people.

4. How did the long break affect the staff's attitude to their work?
They definitely seemed to enjoy work more.

5. Why is the scheme attractive to new recruits?
Beacuse working only for nine months still makes you a lot better off financially than you where before and social benefit to be achieved.

6. Is the scheme going to become permanent?
It's going to be permanent but not on the busy months of summer.

3. What are the most important things for you in your work?
Job satisfaction, earing enough money, meeting people, having a pleaant co-workers / collegues, earing plenty of money and security.

4. If yo could choose any job in the world to do, what would it be? Why?
President hahahaha!!! they get all they want and pleanty of money for free  jajaj I`m just kidding, I'll would really enjoy to be a Manager Director of a world famous hotel, beacuse I'll like to take care good of huge business.!!!

Excercise from page 118

How a computer works!!.

First to all you need to plug in the computer. The next thing you have to do is to turn on the monitor and then finally turn on the pcu.
Make sure you pluged all the cables right.
Oh, and by the way, don´t forget to choose your personal usser name and press your password.
Oh, and be careful not to have drinks near the keyboard or the monitor.
Ok, so is that clear? Okay !!!
Does that seem to make sense? Of course!
So there we are, Dou you have any question? No Sir, I don´t have any question! thanks!!
Excuseme. Could you show me how to get in to the business software? Sure I'll be a pleasure to show you one more time!!

I wonder if you could tell me how this scanner works? Of course let me explain you..!!
I´m sorry i didn't quite follow you there. Would you mind to explain me once again?
I'm sorry, What did you say that part was called? This is called a scanner.
If I've understood right or I'm doing something wrong? So is the basic idea that turn on the computer and get in to the business software?
You mean, that is only my password works on this computer? that's right!!!..

1. What is "the marketing mix"?
The marketing mix consists of the 4 P's providing to the costumer with the rigth product at the rigth price, presented in the most attractive way promotionand available in the easiest way place.

2.What is 'a product'?
A product is not just an assembled set of components: it is something customers buy to satisfy a need they felt they have. The image and the designaf the product are as important as its specification.

3.What is the 'price'?
The product must be priced so that it competes effectively with rival products in the same market.

4. What is 'promotion'?
The product is presented to the costumers through advertising (e.g. TV commercuals, radio spots, newspaper advertisements, posters), packaging (e.g. design, labels, materials), publicity, P.R. (public relations) and personal selling.

5. What is 'place'?
Your product must be avilable to costumers trough the most cost-effective channels of distribution. A cosumer product must be offred to end-ussers in suitable retail outlets, or available on hire purchase or by mail order.

6. What is meant by 'S.W.O.T.'?
A firm must be aware of its strengths, and weaknesses and the opportunities and threats it faces in the market place.
